IKEA wants to build a city store in the center of Vienna. The site is located near the mobility hub „Westbahnhof“ and will not offer any parking lots. The goal is also to create a building which, because of its attractive free spaces, generates a visitor frequency beyond its actual function. For this purpose we wrap the public space around the building and pull the shopping street level into the 3rd dimension. We multiply the shop windows along this route and place various functions for use by the public as additional attraction points. The Rooftop restaurant with ist public roof gardens will become a trendy location.
