Zechner / Zechner is an architectural office situated in Vienna, founded in 1988 by brothers Christoph and Martin Zechner. Since 2025 Walter Kaiser and Stefan Wecker have strengthened the management team as partners.
The team‘s work encompasses the entire spectrum of architectural design. As architects or general planners, the firm has realized numerous projects of varying scales and functions, from single-family homes to office towers, from hotels to train stations.

Due to a long collaboration with qualified expert planners, planners, we can accept the responsibility for the whole planning process as project managers – from the first draft up to the detailed planning and the construction supervision.

Besides the projects in Austria, the office is constantly involved in projects across national borders, like competition entries and construction projects in Germany, Poland or Hungary.

The buildings designed by Zechner / Zechner were awarded with prizes several times, like the European steel construction award, the Brunel Award for extraordinary planning in railway construction, the award for exemplary buildings in Lower Austria, the “AR-Award for emerging architecture“, the Austrian award of mobility, the “World Infrastructure Award“, the „BIG SEE Architecture Award“ and the Styrian Timber Construction Prize.
