“Grünblick” residential highrise

Vienna

The residential high-rise “Grünblick” is the result of an intensive planning process that began in 2013 with an urban development framework and culminated in 2017 with an international architectural competition won by Mario Cucinella Architects. Further planning was carried out in collaboration with Zechner & Zechner.

Rising approximately 90 meters with 28 floors, the tower forms a striking counterpart to the neighboring hotel and office building. Its horizontal articulation and terraced setbacks create a harmonious connection to the urban context. At ground level, retail and dining spaces enliven the surroundings, while the upper floors accommodate 340 apartments featuring generous balconies, loggias, and winter gardens that offer exceptional living quality.

A green canopy links the two towers into a cohesive ensemble and marks the entrance to the district. The rooftop level provides exclusive shared amenities, including an outdoor pool, sauna, fitness area, and panoramic terrace.

The building is powered by a local district heating and cooling network based on a geothermal system with heat pumps , features thermally activated structural components, and has been awarded the ÖGNI Gold Certificate for sustainable construction.
