A new all-day school with primary and secondary schools as well as special and inclusive education facilities is being built at the Donaufeld Süd site. Thirty-eight classrooms are planned, offering a future-oriented, diverse learning environment.
The building is based on the orthogonal structure of the eastern development and forms the western boundary of the neighbourhood to the landscape. The T-shaped arrangement with slightly offset wings divides the volume to scale and creates a harmonious integration into the surroundings.
The central element of the functional organisation is a spacious, light-flooded auditorium, which serves as a communicative centre and provides orientation and connection across all levels.
The façade consists of a rhythmically structured wooden structure with horizontal layers of natural, light-coloured wood, which convey a balanced relationship between openness and closure.
The open space concept differentiates clearly structured outdoor areas that allow for a variety of uses. Terrain modelling and groups of shrubs define flowing transitions between the zones and create a lively interplay between movement and relaxation.
The supporting structure combines a solid reinforced concrete base with a wooden hybrid system above. In the interior design, as many surfaces as possible remain unclad, allowing visible wooden elements to create a warm, inviting atmosphere.
