A school building with 49 classrooms is to be constructed at the Vienna site. An existing round gymnasium will be retained. The structure is orientated towards the surrounding buildings. A 5-storey building with a recessed ground floor is being built along the street front. Towards the east and south, the building is staggered back to create gentle transitions to the lower buildings and the garden area.
The horizontal façade structure is created by emphasised floor slabs that cantilever to the south and east and create terraces. A timber window façade combines ribbon windows, large areas of glazing and opaque elements. Green façade areas and wooden elements create a warm, inviting atmosphere.
The open space concept divides the large southern area into three zones: a public zone with seating, bicycle stands and scooter spaces, a zone with outdoor classrooms, play areas and raised beds, and a zone with a running track and hard courts, which can also be used by the public. Roof terraces with greenery serve as outdoor classrooms. Natural areas promote biodiversity and environmental education.
